Copper has been used in building work for thousands of years. Its character and natural beauty make it a preferred material of many architects. Its flexibility and durability make it ideal for this purpose, and it works in both traditional and modern designs. It perfectly complements other common building materials such as wood, brick, stone and glass.
Copper is both recyclable and sustainable, with a lifespan of over 300 years. In Europe, 45% of all copper is produced from recycled resources. Once copper is exposed to the elements, it begins an aging process that takes between 15 and 30 years, depending on the conditions of the location. During this process the copper goes from shiny pink to brown and eventually to green colour. This process is known as patination.
Our copper products can come in pre-patinated colours, where the aging process is sped up to achieve a desired colour, or in its natural colour.
